Our Staff

(Rev. Msgr.) Robert J. Jaskot, (Fr. Rob), Pastor of St. Francis-St. Mary/Holy Family

Father Rob is originally from New Jersey. He graduated from Mount St. Mary’s College in 1989 with a degree in Business and Finance and Economics. He worked in Baltimore for three years with an international shipping company before entering the priestly formation program for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. In that program he did one year of studies at St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, and then was appointed to the North American College to study in Rome. He received his Bachelor in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian in 1995, and later received the Licentiate in Sacred Theology specializing in Dogmatic Theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum of St. Anselm in 1998. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Baltimore in 1998. His first full-time assignment was at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Frederick, Maryland. From 2002 until 2008 he served as Priest Secretary to Cardinal William H. Keeler, Archbishop of Baltimore. From 2005 until 2008 he also served as Chancellor of the Archdiocese. In 2008 he was named Director of the Archdiocesan Office for Worship.  Archbishop O’Brien appointed him Pastor of Holy Family Catholic Community in spring, 2010 and he began on August 21, 2010.

Deacon George Sisson, Permanent Deacon

George retired in 2008 after more than 16 years as a senior attorney with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Before joining DLA, George spent 21 years as an officer in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps including assignments as a staff judge advocate, senior trial and defense counsel, claims settlement authority, and as an instructor in legal subjects. George holds a BS in Political Science from Xavier University, a JD from Valparaiso University School of Law, and a LLM in Labor Law (with Highest Honors) from the National Law Center, George Washington University.  George and his wife Dinah have been active in various ministries throughout their adult lives including RCIA, small group leader, social justice, right to life, sacramental preparation, and Knight of Columbus. George was ordained a permanent deacon in May 2007. He and Dinah have four children and one grandchild and reside near Middletown.


Deacon Wayne Matthews, Permanent Deacon

Wayne was ordained and assigned to Holy Family Catholic Community in 1992.  Beginning in 1993, he was also Consultor to Archdiocese of Baltimore and Chair, Deacon Personnel Board.  He later served at Stella Maris church, Archdiocese of San Juan, and in Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, parish deacon and as Director, Office of Diocesan Planning (2005-2008).  Wayne has been involved in Justice and Peace, SHARE, and various ministries, some shared with wife, Ingrid (grief group; marriage and baptism preparation; training/retreats), who also has done fund raising, music ministry/cantering, parish council and lecturing. The couple have four children and six grandchildren.  Wayne’s experience includes: researcher of incurable parasitic diseases, University of Chicago and Tulane University School of Tropical Medicine; Food and Drug Administration (FDA), retired 2005.  FDA roles: Management Intern, Investigator, Senior Analyst/Director (Policy), Office of Commissioner Special Assistant, Organization Development National Expert, and District Director (Puerto Rico/U. S. Virgin Islands). He is Professor (APUS and UMUC graduate schools); and Dove Wellness Institute Administrator, Frederick, MD.  Education: Creighton University and University of Louisiana, BS Microbiology; Masters and Doctorate, Public Administration, specializing in Applied Behavioral Sciences, Public Policy/Organization Development, Univesity of Southern California (USC).


Terry Kirby, Director of Mission Support

Terry was born and raised in Cumberland Maryland. He and his wife Lynne raised their family in Perry Hall Maryland where they were active in St. Joseph’s Fullerton Church. Terry has spent 36 years in bank operations, management and systems management. He was responsible for personnel, budgets, planning, systems, and the success of multiple banking departments. Terry and Lynne have been members of Holy Family since 1997.  Terry has served both the Adult Formation and Finance Committees. He is currently an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and a member of the Pastoral Council.

Karen Nelson, Director of Mission

Members of Holy Family since 2013, Karen, her husband and seven children moved to the area from Montgomery County. Karen was born and raised in Annapolis and attended and graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University. She was a stay-at-home mom for over 15 years before returning to the work force as a Financial Specialist at the Arc of Frederick County. She is very excited to be joining the staff at Holy Family.

Katy Hylton, Associate Director of Music

Katy joined our music ministry on July 1, 2014, after serving as Director of Choral Music at Blair Academy, an independent high school in Northern New Jersey, where she conducted four choirs, directed musicals, gave private voice lessons, and taught cross curricular courses in music and religious studies. She earned her master's degree in choral conducting at the Eastman School of Music (in her home town of Rochester, NY) and completed her undergraduate work in music composition and theory at Hofstra University. She is delighted to be joining the staff at Holy Family!

Erin Breeden, Director of Family Formation 

Erin was born and raised in Frederick, MD. She has been actively involved in church ministry through music and Youth Ministry since becoming a Catholic in 2001. She graduated from Mount St. Mary's University in 2011 with a B.A. in Theology. She worked for six years for the South Washington County Pastorate of St. James Boonsboro, St. Augustine Williamsport, and St. Joseph Halfway doing Youth Ministry, RCIA, Music Ministry, and Liturgy. She currently lives in Hagerstown with her husband. She is very excited to be joining Holy Family!

Linda Berry, Director of Clergy Support
A life long Marylander and graduate of the University of Maryland, Linda moved to Middletown in 1991. Leaving her job as a senior computer programmer/analyst to raise her four children, Linda has been involved in various ministries here at Holy Family and an active school volunteer. She is supportive of her husband’s business and has enjoyed her return to the work force. She spends her off time relaxing in the family motor home and watching her husband and sons drag race.

 Ed Haynes, Director of Facilities

Ed was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas.  He graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and spent 35 years in records management, program administration, financial management and strategic planning.  Ed and his wife, Lisa, have two children and seven grandchildren.  He began his employment with St. Francis – St. Mary in 2013 as the Director of Faith Formation.  Ed served as Pastoral Council President and is currently a Lector and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
