Our Staff Members
The staff at Holy Family Catholic Community has spent many years devoted to the christian faith. Our staff enjoys sharing that faith and knowledge with others in our church community.

Dcn. George Sisson (Permanent Deacon)
George Sisson retired in 2008 after more than 16 years as a senior attorney with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Before joining DLA, George spent 21 years as an officer in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps including assignments as a staff judge advocate, senior trial and defense counsel, claims settlement authority, and as an instructor in legal subjects. George holds a BS in Political Science from Xavier University, a JD from Valparaiso University School of Law, and a LLM in Labor Law (with Highest Honors) from the National Law Center, George Washington University. George and his wife Dinah have been active in various ministries throughout their adult lives including RCIA, small group leader, social justice, right to life, sacramental preparation, and Knight of Columbus. George was ordained a permanent deacon in May 2007. He and Dinah have four children and one grandchild and reside near Middletown.

Ricardo Valdez (Director of Faith Formation)
Ricardo and his wife, Belem, hail from Adrian, Michigan. Ricardo graduated from Siena Heights University with a degree in Religious Studies. In 2005, Ricardo studied abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico as part of his undergraduate studies. One of the best parts of studying abroad was meeting is wife Belem, who is from Cuernavaca, Mexico. They have two sons, Diego and Santiago. Some of his hobbies include, but are not limited to, camping, volunteering in catechetical programs, and traveling.

Carolyn Kilonsky (Coordinator of Youth Ministry)
Carolyn was born in California, raised on the East Coast and lived 6 years in the Chicago area before coming to Maryland. She is a graduate of Wittenburg University in Springfield, Ohio. Carolyn has lived in Middletown for 9 years with her husband Tim and 3 children, Dana, Erin and Brian. She has been an active member of the parish family and especially enjoys working with our youth. Carolyn has volunteered on Pastoral Council, Parish Advisory Committee, Parish Events, Baptismal Ministry and taught elementary, middle and high school Religious Education. She enjoys playing tennis, Curves, volunteering for the PTA, and watching her children’s sporting events.

Karen Thomas (Liturgy Coordinator/Youth Music Minister)
A member of Holy Family since 1991, Karen brings her classical training in piano and music education and her love for the Catholic church to her position as liturgy coordinator. Growing up in Ohio, Karen holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Youngstown State University. For 25 years, Karen taught private piano instruction from her home, in order to "stay-at-home" with her four children, Julie, Mary, Kelly and Matt. Karen has served her parish as a catechist, youth minister and children's liturgy of the word proclaimer. Karen directs the youth music ministry choirs, including the children's choir and teen-age ALIVE! choir, and is a pianist at the weekend liturgies, as well as funerals and weddings. She is a member of the National Pastoral Musicians Association (NPM) and Choristers Guild. In her free time, she enjoys bible-study, baking, flower-gardening and traveling. Karen and her husband, Rob and their family live in Middletown.

Jean Rhoades (Office Manager/Facility Use Coordinator)
Originally from Long Island, New York and one of seven children, Jean was raised in Braddock Heights. After attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, she began participating in many theatrical productions at the Weinberg Center. A State Farm Insurance employee for 13 years, Jean worked in the Life Division and later, was the Publications Editor for the Seaboard Region of State Farm. Subsequently, Jean worked for Gladhill Furniture Company as a Sales and Design Consultant. In 2004, Jean joined the parish staff. She and husband, Jamie, have been members of Holy Family since 1987 and live in Middletown. They have two grown sons, Adam and Chris. Over the years, Jean has been a nursery volunteer, a catechist, office volunteer, member of the Grocery Card program and coordinator for 4 parish directories.

Cathy Todt (Finance Manager)
Born in Hanover, Pennsylvania, Cathy moved to the Frederick area in 1979 and has been a faithful member of Holy Family since 1986. Before assuming the position of bookkeeper at Holy Family, Cathy worked as the manager and bookkeeper of a local restaurant and for the last 3 years as a tax preparer for a local CPA. She has a wonderful husband, Harry, and two terrific sons, Jonathan and Michael.

Linda Berry (Administrative Assistant)
A life long Marylander and graduate of the University of Maryland, Linda moved to Middletown in 1991. Leaving her job as a senior computer programmer/analyst to raise her four children, Linda has been involved in various ministries here at Holy Family and an active school volunteer. She is supportive of her husband’s business and has enjoyed her return to the work force. She spends her off time relaxing in the family motor home and watching her husband and sons drag race.

Liz Parrotte (Religious Ed. Admin. & Coordinator of Ministries & Volunteers)
Liz moved to the area in 1994 from Rockaway, New Jersey with her husband and 3 daughters. They have been members of Holy Family Catholic Community since 1994. Liz was born and raised in Wappingers Falls, New York and attended SUNY Morrisville in New York. She was a Quality Assurance Manager for Fairchild Semiconductor in NY and moved to Columbia, Maryland in 1985 to work at Allied Signal Aerospace in the same capacity. She met her husband at Allied Signal and they were married shortly after. She has been a stay-at-home mom since they started a family and has enjoyed volunteering for various ministries.

David Coleman (Plant Engineer)
Travlin’ Dave was born in West Chester, PA and raised in Riviera Beach, Md. He attended Mt. St. Joseph’s High School and the University of Dayton. He served in the Air Force and worked as an air traffic controller until retiring in 1995. After retiring, he did a “Walk About,” visiting national parks throughout the US. He went to work for the Disney Store, then came to work at HFCC. He has raised three wonderful kids and is still married to Mary, a beautiful Ohio girl. He is spending his retirement years working for the Church, traveling and enjoying his grandkids.

Charlie Jones (Custodian)
Charlie was born and raised in the anthracite coal region of eastern Pennsylvania. He graduated from Pottsville High School and served in the US Army. After his discharge from military service, he relocated in the Washington D.C. area and hired on with Western Electric. He retired after 35 years of service from AT&T. He attended Northern Virginia Community College and completed courses in electronic technology from DeVry Institute of Chicago. Charlie and his wife, Rogene, are one of the original founding families of Holy Family Catholic Community. They have been married for 44 years; have three children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
